Hi guys !
A preview of my latest scratch-built figure on a modified base. "One Aim, Two Goals" refers to both the artist and cat wanting to "interact" with the birds, but with different ends in mind ! The birds (sparrows) and street lamp were given to me by a good friend and fellow "planeteer" Raymond O. Lantz, who designed the originals. I thought a suitable setting should be made to display them, hence this vignette. The wine bottles are from CMK, the figure's head and hands are from Hornet, the lower limbs are modified from a Bodi figure, the cat is from Julius Models, the base structures are modified from a LionRoar item that I had in my spares box. All others were scratch-built from 2-part epoxy putty, plastic rod or from my spares box. The integrated groundwork joining the resin base to the wooden base is made from 2-part epoxy putty with sand and gravel white-glued on. The chain is from a railroad accessory set I had in my spares box. Thanks for looking and I hope to post the painted results soon. Cheers !
Kenneth .

Excellent story Kenneth, and outstanding planning for your new dio! The *ideal* would have to get a cat preparing to jump (with the tail high!) on the small pilars that's behind the drawing guy, this way the viewer wouldn't have to search for a cat that would stay unseen on some angle and too far from the guy.
But such a great idea, really Kenneth friend, you are one of a kind, very talented

Hi Kenneth. I love composition and the storyline. Masterful.
One nitpick I have is regarding the rucksack and the weight of the figure leaning on it ... it doesn´t portray the the sense of weight he has. Its also a little hard to imagine that the rucksack could support him alone.
As you have exhibited the skills, why not resculpt the ruck sack to lean against the pillar for support and show the weight of the figure on the opposite side? It would surely add to the realism of the scene.

What a great, little scene!
Truly refreshing. I have to agree with Frank though. The rucksack does need some more attention.
I'd love to see this scene in colour!

Hi Kenneth
I like the scene also very much.
Jen Bernard has it right, do something with the cat, it should be more visible.
I am not a fan of the fine stuff (sand?) lying on the floor stones and on the border of the pilars.
What is that supposed to be?
Cheers
Claude

Hi Frank !
Thanks for the advice and critique; sometimes it takes an "outsider" to look for the missing link in a diorama ! Much appreciated. Cheers !

Hi Nico !
Thanks, my friend; I'm glad you like it ! The lamp post is an original sculpt by my good friend Raymond O. Lantz, who very kindly gave me a set to use . Cheers !

Hi Claude !
Thank you very much for the encouragement ! I've taken JBA's and Frank's advice to heart and have modified the scene accordingly . As for the fine sand, etc., it is to provide texture to the cobbled street as the vignette is located in a long abandoned courtyard. The textured area under the courtyard represents the ground beneath the cobbles. Painting will "tie" all the various textures together . Hope this helps to clear things up a bit. Cheers !

Hi guys !
Here are the photos showing the changes made to the various elements of the vignette, following the suggestions given by my fellow Armorama friends .The knapsack has been shifted and re-sculpted to fit the figure's back; the mat reshaped; 1 bottle replaced with a mug; the cat re-sculpted from Tamiya spare parts. Hope you like them and thanks for looking. Next stop, painting . Cheers !

Hi JBA !
!!!! I'm glad that you see the humour in that (Tamiya "spare parts" cat) . Thank for the critique, though; I'm glad that I re-did the cat and am now very happy with the final arrangement of the vignette . Cheers !
