Hi Guys. Just a little side project I've started, to keep me occupied. It'll just be a small vignette, a wounded GI, and one of his comrades calling for a medic.
Sorry for the harsh shadow in the photo, a computer monitor doesn't exactly make the best back light xD. Once I get them primed I'll set up a proper "mini shoot" for the fellas, but I didn't feel like busting everything out for a quick snapshot.
The 2 figures are just various parts of dragon and tamiya kits I have in my stash, and a lovely amount of "putty" holding them together. (putty being a nice mix of dental wax and super glue...works fairly well, not as good as putty, but well enough in a pinch!)
Once I get them primed and patch up some spots I'll get some better photo's up.

I like 'em! Especially the guy calling for the medic. Can't quite imagine the wounded guy yet, but I suppose he'll conform to some terrain? I see some mould seams on his legs btw. Dental wax and super glue?? Forgive my ignorance, what is dental wax??
Cheers!

No ignorance on your part, hell, if I didn't have braces a while back I wouldn't even know about it. It's supposed to be used on lose wires, so they don't chaffe your gums, but, a lot of labs use it when sealing slides (or so it's advertised)...makes a fairly good modeling compound, provided you find a way to harden it.
Yeah, the down'd fellow will be "dug into" some terrain, just enough that he doesn't look like he's in the middle of doing the worm =P Still gotta clean them up some, should be ready to start painting later today, maybe tomorrow.

Didn't actually get any work done on the duo, other than priming them. I did work on a beach obstacle to fill the small vignette up some. It's just a mine on a wooden pole, as were common through out the normandy beaches.
Just a spare part from my stash for the mine and photo etched "attachments", a piece of wooden dowel for the pole, and some floral foam with gesso brushed on it for the concrete base, which will be buried partly in the "sand".

Update -
Decided to skip out on the mined pole, didn't look right (I'm thinking the "log" wasn't the right size for 1/35), either way, I opted for a smaller base, and it would have taken up too much space.
I still need to touch up..a lot...xD But, the ball's rolling, so to speak.
Comments/Critques Welcome as always.

Joe any chance of some larger pictures so we can see the detail better.
