While some of the older guys probably dont use it, a great deal of other people do. If you check facebook you will see that there are now many thousands of well know modellers on there, all part of various groups etc. I think you'll find just about every single young person in the country has it so having a MAFVA group page is a very useful asset indeed.

I say go for it. They're easy to set up, but do have limited functionality - unless I'm just too dumb to modify mine to it's true potential.
As to who will subscribe to it,. that depends on your target audience. You may have fewer Baby Boomers, but more Gen X, Gen Y or iGen readers. If your audience is the Baby Boomer crowd, maybe this isn't the right medium for you
