HI all,
Im planning a monumental Stryker build, i've literally compiled a Kings Ransom of aftermarket goodies for the AFV Club Stryker (i'll post a shot of the the pile later when I get home from work!)
Im planning to do the Stryker in Afghanistan, with all the belly armour etc, and will all the hatches open to show off the Black Dog interior.
If anyone can help with images of these guys in Afghanistan, that would be great. I've been able to get a few shots of them from ML (thanks to those who posted the shots)
Is the Spark Mine Roller in use in Afghanistan? I was thinking of getting the Blast Models one, but wont bother if its not in use there.
Thanks in advance,
Sam Dwyer

Hi Sam
Yes it is

You can take a look at DefenseImagery.mil for more Afghanistan Strykers pics (including SPARK-fitted ones).

Are those the engineer's version with LMR kit, or just ICV's with only the mine roller added??

Hi Alejandro,
judging from the CO´s cupola it looks like the M1127 RV Stryker. I think many Stryker versions equipped today with the SPARK for patrol duty.

I'm always impressed to see how much more military vehicles can deal with - I mean all the additional weights etc.
Sorry for interrupting

Thanks a lot, people!!! I was almost sure I´ve seen a picture of a non-engineer vehicle with the mine roller attached, but could not find it...

Uh oh. Sam if I know your work you have something crazy in the works. PM me and I can help you out some and point you in the right direction for some things.
Also, driver enhancement kit is available via Miloslav and Real Model and the mine protection plate, tire fire suppression kit and others will be available soon.
Can't wait to see what you have in the works!

Alejandro,
If you go back a ways, there were some great pictures of slat-less Strykers in Afghanistan posted here. It seems that due to weight issues and the different nature of combat over there, some (many?) of these vehicles are having the slat armor removed.
I'm still waiting to see them in action with the long-awaited ERA packs.
Regards,
John
