These builds are best enjoyed in person, I've seen them upclose.

The Slat is wonderful, I'm not quite up to that yet....someday though!

Brilliant work, since you mentioned that these models are projects for a forthcoming book, don’t leave us hanging there, tell us more. When is it due for release? I presume there is a detail about the build of these models in the book. I would be very interested in this.

Hi Cookie,
Thanks for your complements! The book will be released in April 2010, and is put out by SAM Publications www.sampublications.com Look for the "ArmourDatafile" link on the left side. This is the first book in a series.. and is available for pre-order. .more titles and subjects will be comming, as we have lots of ideas. On that note, if anybody has any topics or subjects they would like to see covered, let me know!

Both kits are really excellent Andy.
At first glance I wondered why you omitted the TOW launcher front shutter but the real pic you attached gave the answer !

Wow, great looking models. I like the heat effect on the Stryker's exhaust deflector. You might want to add some more wire to the coil - it seems a bit lacking.

Hi Bob, thanks! Yes, i agree...both the models need more "embellishments". I was pressed for time to get it presentable before the deadline to get everything to the publisher. I do want to add more wire and straps to both the stryker and bradley, plus build a scenic base for both vehicles. Not only for aesthetics, but also to make them less prone to damage in transit.

Andy, super job on both pieces- which kits did you use, which slat armor on the Stryker, and which stowage kit, Legends? Just wondering. I'm getting ready to start an M1130 Stryker with the slat armor, and I was curious as to who's set you used, and what issues you ran into with it. Thanks!

Hi Larry,
Many thanks for your comments! You can actully read all about the projects (including Ryans M1A1 TUSK you commented on) in our book by SAM Publications
SAM Publications ADF#1

to answer your questions...
AFV Club stryker (the best one out there!)
Griffon Models Slat set...this set comes with everything you need...armor panels, slat, exaust deflector, and other details. It also goes together very well and the brass is a good thickness. I also used some bits from Voyagers stryker detail set, but its not required.

Stowage is some Legends stuff and the spare wheel and side bins are from Blast models. You may want to check out the stowage from Real Model as they have MOLLE packs which are more approipiate than all the ALICE packs in the Legends set.

Good luck on your project and be sure to post pictures of your progress!

Andy, thanks for the info. I've heard a lot of mentions of the Griffon Models slat armor set. I have the Eduard slat armor, anyone have any experiences with that? I'll look into the Real Model stuff as well. Awesome stuff, really nicely done. I'm inspired. Keep up the super work and thanks for responding!

Thanks Andrew! BTW, for those in USA, SprueBrothers.com just got a large shipment in of them to restock.

Next ones up (from me) are one covering Operation Desert Storm, and one covering the US Marines in OIF...some other authors are working on a couple other titles as well...going to be a GREAT series!

Nice work on both of those.

Congrats really.

Question is any build pics of that Bradley?

Add-ons to make it that way is what I am after.

Thanks
