Hi Guys,
I'm planning a vignette in indochina in 1/35 scale.
I will sculpt the figures (at least the most part of it), and I search plastic figures in shorts (cheap figures not, not resin ones) to cut their legs and add them for my sculptong.
The best kit I found for the moment is the Dragon common whealth infantry in Italy. But the shirts are a bit long, whereas in Indocihna, the shorts were very short, ending at the top of the tighs.
Any clues guys ?
Best
Julien

Figures in short shorts? Hmmmmm, I saw a few of those in the city and on the train today - when it's 30 plus degrees we get to see lot's of nice figures in short shorts
Hi Julien,
Good to see you again
I was about to suggest some of the old Tamiya civilian figure but then remembered they are 1:24 (I think).
Have you considered the Preiser academy figures? The naked ones? A guy of your talents should be able to sculpt short shorts onto them easily.
Rudi

Academy makes a set of French Foreign Legion troops. One of them is in Indochina gear, shorts included, and the other one in FL dress uniform with shorts. Unfortunately the set contains six figures of which only two are from the same period and theatre. Not much potential there for larger dioramas.
They look kind of awkward on the box (bad painting mostly) but they are useful if somewhat tiny figures.
Here is a look inside the box.
Cheers, and don't forget to make pictures for all of us to see!

Try Tamiya's 25lb gun crew. All in shorts and some are bare chested.
