Hi all...this is my complete Leclerc(only 3 details need to be added,I'll do on the painting stage.)
I need your comments and your suggestions.
Note:tank will be in white camo.Un markings-FINUL OPEX,Liban.
It's a tamiya kit+voyager and Eduard PE.other bits come from Blast model dedicated set.(very nice for some items, not sufficient for others)
I need also Bronco Tracks that are just on the way. Here it is with the kit tracks that aren't so bad.Up to now no side skirts,I'll mount them later.
1)what are the colors for the inside of the periscopes?!green?!white?!(I'm not talking about the glasses in them that I know that they have different shades of colours determined by weather, light, distance, camera ecc ecc)
2)Antennas,I know that they were painted in the first stage of the finul opex is it right?!
3)any idea or tutorial to proced with a "white tank"?!expcially about the fading and to add more contrast to the whole thing(this is my first white tank)...photos of models in this camo will be appreciate, like sbs.

Gotta build one of these one day.
Nice work Ciro, the white finish will be a challenge. I would start with a dark grey under coat then build up the white.
I would probaly spray in a cloud pattern slowly filling in each panel followed by a heavy(ish) misting coat to tie it all together.
Another idea would be to spray the lower hull and running gear in a dark earth brown and build up the white from there.....leaving the earth colors still visible down below.
What ever you do, I would test it out on a old hull before applying to your finely built Leclerc.

On the UNIFIL Leclercs the road wheels, idler wheels, and drive sprockets were all left flat black when they were painted white....it was all masked off.....so, that means the lower hull and suspension behind the roadwheels would also have remained black....just something to keep in mind if you want the paint scheme to be accurate.

I just finished painting a ferret white. I started with a dark grey primer but it took me about 10 coats and 3 different brands of paint to get something I was close to happy with. I haven't started on the weathering yet so I'll be watching this with interest for any suggestions.

Hey Ciro, If you can find it, Mark Howard did a great job on the same scheme along with some really nice reference pictures in the May 2008 issue of Military Modelcraft International,
