Nightmare of nightmares!
After building three wonderful M4's for a client's diorama, I took them out for the final "flat coat" spray to lock down those decals, weathering, and dusted pastels. Two came out just wonderfully - but YOIKES- the third is now in critical condition... BOTH the rubber treads snapped as if dry-rotted. To touch them is to invite MORE breaks! Seems the ModelMaster Dullcoat spray (#1960) is not compatible with *some* versions of the rubberband treads. This has NEVER happended before...
Anyone got a pair of 1:35 tracks for sale - or suggestions on potential replacements? Otherwise, this one will have to be the "tank that threw two tracks".... Do you think I could purchase the tracks directly from Italeri? I know that Tamiya , Monogram, and Revell have "replacement by part number" offerings - anyone ever try Italeri?

I've heard of this problem before, but never had it happen to me. AFV Club sell sets of Sherman tracks in 'rubber band' form, forget which types but they look pretty good in pictures.

I don't know if Italeri is offering this very service, what I know that I have two Priests and an M36 from Italeri. They share the same tracks and as far as I can see on my Italeri's M4A1 (the latest is built unfortunately) they just look the same.
If you want I can ship one track set to you,I know Mr. Italeri and next time I'll be in Bologna I'll go there and pick up a replacement set.
Feel free to PM/email me to give me the shipping details.

Yes, I have. Got to www.testors.com and use thier parts service. I think that Testors' parts replacement service is the best and fastest, although I have also used and am impressed with Revell-Monogram, Revell of Germany, Airfix, Heller, AMT/Ertl and even Lindberg. They don't charge and have a turn around of a couple of weeks.I know that Tamiya , Monogram, and Revell have "replacement by part number" offerings - anyone ever try Italeri?
BTW, Testors is the US distributor for Italeri and has the replacement service on their site.

They are even better in reality! :-) Bought that kit (AF 35026) for less than $10 specially to replace tracks at my Italeri M4A1 kit (had the same problem with the kit's tracks as KFMagee ). They do T-51 type tracks with flat rubber pad.
