Good Day All,

So I decided to make a 1:87 scale ASU-57 kit out of an old cardmodel design and plastic sheets. What I am stuck on however is where to kitbask or how to make a Barrel for the kit. I checked on Wikipedia and the ASU-57 has two types of Barrel, a ZIS-2 CH-51 and ZIS-2 CH-51M. I believe both are modified from the original ZIS-2 gun.

Two Barrels exists on ASU-57 kits in 1:35. There is the common one as seen in museum pics of the tank with a unique ring of barrel and muzzle formation on the 57mm gun. I have also seen the Maquette 1:35 kit, where on the box pic the gun has a completely different look, with the thicker ring farther back and no muzzle. I found a pic here: http://obchod.valka.cz/popup_image.php/pID/1015056?osCsid=kfav28j77f4oem1fsq262cjdhksj0hbl

So what I am looking for is advice on what barrels out there could be used as the standard barrel or the maquette barrel seen in the pic. Advice on the gun root with the tank would be appreciated as well. Which Barrels do you guys think look like the two ASU-57 barrels??

Thanks for the help and advice....
Cheers,

*cough* evergreen styrene tubing *cough* Cough* Modifyed panther muzzlebreak *Cough*
LOLOLOL
the muzzle break could easily be replicated by filing down a panther muzzle break and filling a little bit of the front hole.

Sounds like a good option. Can you recommend a way to replicate the thicker section of the barrel near the muzzle?..I'm unsure what it is called...but is a strong characteristic of the gun.
