Hey Ryan~
Now that has turned out nice! You have not overdone any element, and the result is a nice sharp build

Very good work. A little clean for my taste though but each to his own.

Ah, so you did finish it! Came out nicely! But I do agree with Pat, it seems quite clean. I assume it just came off the landing ship on some invasion beach (the markings are for Okinawa IIRC?).
Cheers!

Thanks guys, I know my weathering style isn't for everyone, but it's my own.
The camera does wash out the effect a little, it seems dirtier in person, though the nose could use a liitle more weathering.
Stefan, I think this is a Philippine unit, but the commander is in a jacket and gloves though...

Nicely done, excellent job on an OOB build. I noticed you really get into your painting. How much time did you spend on your brown pre-shading? I didn’t notice when I was glancing through your build. I’ve seen some get the same result with powders but you can’t argue your method, looks great. Not to sure about that bare metal spot on the barrel.
Your right about the Philippines, Luzon to be exact, for reference if you ever want to place it into a diorama;
Looks like the word SALE on the barrel and that there are shoulders on the wolf.
Congrats on a great build,
Bob

Thanks Bob, Although neat looking the brown pre-shade did nothing for the finish, and it took forever. It's barely visible in person, next time I'll use Kahki Drab or Nato Black. The final effect was acheived with Oil paint washes, Buff over sprays and pigments.
Others more in the know than me can confirm, but the bare metal ring at the base of the gun is the result of the barrel recoil. When the gun fired it recoiled into the turret removing the paint as it went. Make sense to me.
Thanks for the shots of Peg, another flaw with the kit decals is the wolf head faces the wrong way on the other side of that photo, for those who want to know for their next "Classy Peg" build.
Thanks
Ryan

I am doing this one too,
The only stuff that push me to buy this is the road wheel, but it seems that you should use different style of wheels.
I like your clean Sherman, I just can not stop making it dirty and old.

Thank you Sean and Lu.
Yes the kit includes the "dish" style wheels, but are only molded on one side.

your comander figure came out nice....like the binos look. might want to drop some future or clear gloss on the lenses.
and it does look better in person....the weathering is very subtile.

Hi Ryan. Overall its a very nice sherman. I like the stowage arrangement and its tied down nicely (tight). Id agree with the weathering suggestions ... somewhat too light, especailly as its quite noticeable on the turret top. This looks excellent, and its a pity it didn´t show more further down. Weathering should be consistent!

Thanks for the look and comment Frank.
This was the first armor project I attempted in about 15 years, and I was just happy to get it finished with some new tecniques I picked up here and there. I think by the time I got to the turret, I just got the hang of what I was trying to portray. This is what happens when a aircraft modeler finishes a tank project!
I promise the next one will be a bit more dirty! (maybe)
