Got a question for ya. I don't have any pics. now but I'll get some up shortly.
For my diorama. its a U turn road with high ground on most of the sides. Now, for some sections I have tall elefent grass light green, and I plan on adding some tan in there as well, and tree stumps. I plan on adding the top of the tree like it fell over after the grass is done. I also have a few bushes here an there. Other larger areas I used Static Grass and for the effect of Agent Orange. I think i'll be throwing in some large rocks since it is near the bottom of a mountain but not many. The road is goig to be paved with the red dust on the shoulder with scattered grass.
hopefully tommorow i'll have pics. up. But so far do you think that it will look like a Vietnam setting?
thanks,
Mike

Depends on what AO you are wanting to depict. The units and the AO you put in a diorama really have to go together or else history buffs such as myself will point them out to you after the model has already been made. So what unit and what Area of Operations are you doing?

PM here...
i agree with Zach us history buffs will pick holes in it, souds to me as if you are doing the highland areas so dark red earth will be called for as well as limestome and marble rocks.. marble in nature is dark gray with streaks of light gray in it... look at marble mountain near Da Nang.

Gotchya. Iam doing the 541st. Co. being ambushed on An Khe Pass at the "Hair Pin Turn" I have a brief video of the pass and scenery but its hard to tell eaactly what it is.
I've looked all over the web for pics. of the Hair Pin but only found an aerial view of it and doesnt help much. Are there any sites you would recomend perhaps now a day photos?

An Khe pass:
I found all of these just by going to Google and typing in both An Khe and An Khe pass.
Good luck.
