Gunnie--I noticed that your M-41 and M60A2, among others, have remarkably clear headlights and searchlight glass. How did you do that one?
thanks

DJ - I use MV Products lenses for my headlights. I drill out the housings with a pin-vise for the pilot hole and then a D-Blade X-Acto knife to open up the hole.
The M60A2 uses the Grief M48/M60 Headlight Set - which is a neat little resin headlight unit already cast with sockets and two blackout and two regular lenses.

DJ - you can order them from R&J Enterprises, or virtually any well-stocked model railroad retailer - as these are used by that modeling community primarily. Your local shops might carry them too.
For the M4, Sir, you want #LS116.

DJ,
In our area, you can find MV Lenses at Granddad's Hobby Shop over in Springfield. They usually have nearly every size in stock.. It's a very nice upgrade.
The Sherman series uses 3 # 116 lenses.
I found the answer to your question here -

What state? It would stink if there was a great hobbyshop that I somehow missed after living in Sprinfield for 11 years! I mean Illinois, by the way...(yup, home if The Simpsons) Doh!In our area, you can find MV Lenses at Granddad's Hobby Shop over in Springfield.

Tim--know Grand Dads very well as does my checkbook. I'll secure the lens on my next buying spree. I have been trying to find a suitable Mother's Day gift and I think the lens would satisfy the little woman. Oh, Yoda, we live in Virginia.....

If for some reason Granddad's doesn't have the lens you are looking for (which is rare, but has happened to me on occassion), check http://www.discountmodels.com. He carries the whole line and his shipments usually arrive to me in 2-3 days here in Northern Virginia (they are coming from outside of Detroit).

Adam--follow-up. The websites are a superb back-up to Grand Dad's. I get my travel pay this week and I'll be parting with some of it this weekend at that treasure trove.
thanks again

DJ,
Not only does Michigan Discount Models have great prices, but the guy who runs it, Mark Klutchko, is great. He is very friendly and is a joy to deal with. In reference to his prices, at AMPS he had Friulmodel Track for $26 while CMD (the US importer) was charging $27.
No, I haven't done the M-26 yet. I have been concentrating on early WWII stuff except for the M-41. I am currently working on a bunch of kits at once. I am finishing up 2 Tamiya Panzer II F/Gs and the old Tamiya Tiger I to test some new painting techniques on. I am also in the middle of an RPM TK-3 Polish tankette and an AER T-38 Amphibious tank. Both of these kits have required a ton of TLC on my part and as a result are coming along rather slowly.

Adam--I took a break from the M-26 work. You have to do it one step at a time. Massive, but boy does it go together well.
