I know the British used the M4A2 sherman with the two "bumps" for the driver and co-driver on the upper hull, but did they use the M4A2 with the "flat" front upper hull...Ex: Marines M4A2 or Soviet Lend Lease M4A2

Hey Billy,
The British did receive some late production M4A2's aka Sherman III with the 47 degree glacis.
They had the late war HVSS suspension and 76mm cannon like this one from Wikipedia Commons:



The British got them late as replacements and didn't use them in combat.

As John says no Late M4A2s were used by the British in action in WW2. I wasn't aware that they recieved them at all though I know Canada did post war.

Hi Billy... I think you were talking about the welded front bulges and yes the British and Canadians did receive both types

Virtually all the 47-degree hull front M4A2 Shermans went to the Soviet Union (including some with HVSS), except for a few that went to the US Marines (they saw service on Saipan and Peleliu alongside the earlier 56-degree hull front types). As mentioned, the British received some samples of the later vehicles, and postwar, some leftover M4A2 Shermans with the 76 mm gun reportedly went to Canada.
Britain received virtually the entire production run of M4A4 Shermans. Chrysler had stopped production in August, 1943, but the US Army had about 1200 leftover training vehicles that were returned to the factory for rebuilding, so deliveries to the UK continued until October, 1944. Chrysler had switched to the composite hull M4 for the remainder of 1943, and a substantial portion of that production run also went to the UK.

According to Hunnicutt's bible on the Sherman, of the 2,915 M4A2 [76]W's produced, 5 were shipped to the British and 2,073 went to the Soviet Union.
Canada bought 300 M4A2's in 1946 to equip and train it's units at home and used U.S. supplied M4A3's in Korea.
The Centurion replaced the Shermans in the late 1950's and the survivors went to reserve units, museums and/or became gate guards.
The Sherman in my earlier post is at the outdoor museum at CFB Borden.
