the dust on the bolts on the turret need to be toned down a little its kinda distracting.

Yeah I agree with Chris. Around some of the panels it seems to be a little bit too pronounced but other than that you have done a fantastic job on this vehicle.

That type of accumulation of dust is quite visible on the AFVs in Afghanistan....totally realistic portrayal of the weathering.

Roger that. I wish I could make my LAVs look like that! That sort of weathering is exactly what I want to be able to do!

I make of weathering according to my archive photos and this LAV is so far
very clean.

Wow Milo! Amazing! Makes me want to bust open my LAV III conversion right now !

So I have to ask... you painted the LAV in MM Medium green... then what were your steps to get the images above? you mentioned doing a black wash, I see some scratches, then I'm assuming the color around the wheels is airbrushed on and the rest is pigments... Is this your basic process to get from the base coat to the pictures above??

Also - Any thought about having a LORIT upgrade set for the guys (like me) that have the base Real Model LAV III Converison already??

My question is the same as Carmen's. Can you give us a step by step.

Hey Carmen, I believe Miloslav never actually said he used a black wash, Chris was the one who threw that in there. He just said a wash makes it appear darker, so I'm guessing a brown/umber type wash.

Carmen and Sean,
I agree with Jim. I used Mig wash for green and this is brown.
After airbrush base color I must all model airbrush Acrylate clear varnish because Mig wash is only for Acrylic color. After this step base color is dark. Now I make of Dry brush for all model. I mixed sand yellow with some green.
After drybrush I used Mig washing and Mig filters.
Dust. For dust I used Mig or another pigments (Sand or Iraq yellow), this I mixed with gasoline(benzin Zippo Ronson.....) and applique to model part to part. Gasoline quickly dry, for that I see where I cam must add still one or two coat. Where is much I can used for adjust clear gasoline.
Last step is dry dust in possible adjust small dry brush.

this is problem because LORIT have 6 different sheet as LAV III.
Many parts is double. LORIT set included different Turret without rear armor.
I make of this set as another LAV for my LAV family.
But I think that in possible for future make of separate parts for LORIT.

I used washes for green base color, filters also for green color.
