Hello everyone
Another model from my collection, not as spectacular as Merkava, but qutie interesting.
I built if from old Dragon's kit valorized with Eduard PE parts.
This vechicle representing egiptian Shilka from Six-Day War.
I painted it with Gunze Hobby Colours (my favourite paits ).
Photos before painting:
Finished model:
hmmmm Now I think meybe it looks to rusty... but I love vechicles which look like after long hard service.
Any suggestions, comments?

Very nice. I always like to see the models just prior to painting/weathering and then a completed shot.

I agree to the others... great looking model and very nice paintwork!!!
As I see again, a good paintwork has a big influence to the overall or finished result!
That´s a big step from the -upper hull with turret- to -the finished model-.
Some more images between this would be interesting.
I also had two Shilka kits, but I made not good work with them.
Thanks for sharing your images!
The 6-day war seems to be the "Yom-Kippur war", as I think.
greetings...

Superb model! The paint finish is really first class, just goes to show what can be achieved with these older kits when a high quality paint finish is applied.
6 day war is June 1967, Yom-Kippur was October 1973.

As you wish, I have some photos taken during construction:
First step: Surfacer 1200 from Gunze:
Base and first kolor of camouflage:
Masking:
Redy camouflage:
After wash:
I painted some scratches on hull (and later on the turret):
After that I sprayed whole model with clear matt with the addition of a few drops of sand colour:
Last step was to made some rusty effects and oil stains with Talens oil colors.
I think that painting is the most important part in the construction of model. It deciding about final appearance, it can hide weaknesses of the kit...
bye

If you already have so much time and money spent to be built, why the radar is not tight at the back of the braces?
Where are the radar console rods, which are the driving position locator spend?
I really would have done a decent liquid cooling tubing is a deck gun.
As the tube runs parallel to the gray but not black (like the barrel of a gun), which is connected to this, the gray (flexible tube), where are the flash suppressor on the end caps?
This does not drag into the world hangs on, the armor is a locking eye out, it is matched up.
Front, rear and indicator lights on the tower are in size.
Green front, red rear.
They also paint out.
