not sure what happened as i was starting this question, things just went blank. i guess i have been smelling too much gas. well anyway. has anyone purchased the new dragon panther A. i just got it and think it is one of the nicest kits i have seen. just wanted some feedback. my other question is what is the best way to make plastic items that are wood in real life, look like wood. any suggestions woudl be helpful. Have a look at this review.

I do have this kit and I expect to start building it in the next few days.

As far as making plastic look like wood... well, the best thing to do is perhaps "fool" the eye with paint. Try painting the part with a medium brown/tan and then adding contrasting darker and lighter streaks to make the "grain" show up.

Short of that, just make a new part out of basswood or a suitable hardwood. THen you'll be able to stain the part with thinned paint or a suitable stain.

Tim---I agree. I used the Tamiya moder Armor accessory ammo boxes. Painted them a light shade of brown, then washed with a slightly darker pigment, then highlighted. Looks nice.
