In Concord Publications' book "HMMWV Workhorse of the US Army" I've found these photos:
This is Humvee from 3/325 Airborne Battalion Combat Team used as M252 mortar carrier, photos taken during "Ardent Ground" in Germany, 1994.
Has anybody got any more pictures of such version?

The true Mortar Carrier version is a soft top that has specific storage areas for mortar related items. I will look through my TM's and try to provide you more details tonight.

There's also apparently a reference book just on 3-325th ABCT, which can be found here.

Here are diagrams of the load area of a HMMWV Mortar Carrier out of the US Army -10 manual. All images are approved for public release.

Brent - thank You very much for these diagrams. But on them there is a 2-man version, and at photos posted by me there are 4-man version of M998 - one of the rear seat is clearly visible. Maybe it is a non-regulations modification for carrying a mortar? I think I'll try to build such particular 4-man M998 Mortar Carrier, of course using Your diagrams as a help. So thanks again
And I'll try to find that reference book - thanks Joe

The pic you posted is not a standard mortar carrier, but probably a field mod by the unit of an M988 4-seat HMMWV. The Mortar Carrier is usually a two-seat, high-back HMMWV as illustrated in the TM.

I thought so. Well, I like this modification from pictures, and as I wrote above I think I'll build such model. Thanks again, best regards for all who helped me.
