Does anyone know which aftermarket company is making/going to make the racks added on to the M1A1s used in Operation Iraqi Freedom?

Bob,
As far as I know none of the aftermarket companies are making the add-on bustle rack at this time. I have seen pics of a "new" M1A1 release from Dragon (posted here and elsewhere several weeks back) that had the add-on bustle rack, but after seeing some pics of the real thing the Dragon offering was not even close to being correct. (and I don't consider myself a rivet counter ) Hopefully someone will produce one sometime soon, or I'll try to 'scratch" one.

Bob,

Hang on ter yer heels bro......

Tamiya has indicated they are releasing a seperate accessory set. Legends has a M1 accessory set from the ideas of the GWI. And I know that, at least, Verlinden has re-hashed some of their various pieces and called it 'new' (note: not a rant, just an observation).

But that said, as Pat mentioned in MMiR #34, last year there were nearly 80 resin sets released. And that was not a full war year (yes, Afghanistan was then, but no real output from this). Now that OIF was those few weeks in the begining of the year, I am sure by the end of third quarter we will be graced with several more resin goodies.......

My humble 2¢ wit of insight......

Legend makes an M1A1 add on kit I love, especially the ruck sacks, but it is all good stuff. The only company I know of that does a lot of modern stuff is AEF. I have bought from them before and some of their stuff is good, some is not. I will also warn you that the worst customer service I have ever had in my life has been from them. The problem is, he is the only one who has the stuff so there isn't much you can do about it. Here is a link to the desert storm page. I am not sure if it will have what you want but there is some good up to date stuff there.
