Superbe result Nige!

I like it very much.
I would have loved to see a bit smoother folds with the arm protections. That's the only negative.

Cheers

Yes, great result!
But using sunlight as lightsource would give this scene a "better touch". (better color-reproduction)
It could look like these photos from 06. June.

For removing -too bright- parts in the photo, you can hold a sheet of white paper in direction of the sun. (blocking the light)
The result is a "smoother" brightness / contrast.

greetings...

As Claude indicated, would it not be possible to use foil or tissue paper instead of putty for the arm blackouts, to get a better reproduction of the fabric?

Tom.

Tom.

Hi Tom and Claude

Tom the putty was on to get the general bulk and fixing into the holes around the arms ans was supposed to be masked and shaped by the fabric covering which is the thinnest of tissue dressed with very watered down PVA glue.

Claude is right that I found the holding and fixing of the arms in place very fiddily and as such lifted super glue cross contaminating on the the fabric making the folds look bad.

Now the arms fixed I will see if I can carve back the putty and tissue on so far, and re-dress with fresh tissue to see if it will look any better. This may be a little awkward with a couple of the arms as they are close or even crossed over each other.

The pics were taken inside my fume cupboard/spraybooth that has two powerfull lights each side so they lighting is very bright. Will take daylight shots outdoors when the dio gets closer to finish.

I am dreading the painting of the figures as this has already been third attempt so far.

Thanks for all the encouragement from all.

Nige
