Hi the answer is as always not as simples as it seams. Each county who served in the 8th Army . British , Australian , New Zealand ,South Africa and India , used types of cotton and different basic dyes from a light sandy khaki to a full khaki and all shades in between. Then there is the laundry , wind , sun , frost to take into account .
So you can have newly issued uniforms in the original to nearly white bleached out cotton.
This is based on 40 years as a collator and researcher to private museum .
If I placed all the items side by side then you would see every shade and colour combination .
Remember 99.9% of Judges have never seen or held the original items .
If you think it is right who are we to argue . It is after all your model and just enjoy the hobby .
Cheers ian

thanks Ian... ive seen a huge variation, not just in shade, but also in what was worn, especially webbing and footwear.. so its kinda hard to know where to start. No doubt the sun also had its part to play as well
