I need help with the suspension on the M88 and M113 in the photo below. How would I go about getting the suspension to look as it does in the photo.

For the M113 your best bet is individual track links. I'll let the usual suspects chime in with which brand works best. As for the M88: Install the rear bogie as normal, or remove the locator key and install it a tad lower, essentially raising the rear of the M88 slightly. Remove the locator keys or tabs from all the rest of the bogies. Cement the front bogie in its desired "scrunched position. Then add the remaining bogies without cementing. Sight along them insuring they're in a line from front to rear, then add a touch of liquid cement to each. The effect should look like this, only way more pronounced in your case:

The M113 will be a little more work, I think in all kits the road wheel arms are molded to the lower hull, so you'll have to cut them all off with a razor saw and re-attach them. I think Modelkasten or Friul tracks would be the way to go (Friuls will sag better IMHO). The M88 is easier, like Rob says you'll see you just have to clip off the end part of the arms and they will be positionable. The shock absorbers will need to be cut and compressed as well. IIRC the Vietnam version comes with AFV Clubs' individual tracks so they should work OK.

Jim's right. The M113 wheels will fall slightly as well, but you can use the Academy kits. They have separate suspension arms.

Just got your email, Jim. I thought you'd like those pics. What were they thinking?

Yes, get the Academy 113 and Friul tracks. You'll be able to produce that appearance easily and the Academy 113's are excellent kits.

D'Oh!, that's right! Shows how long it's been since I've worked on an Academy M113 - I've only got about a dozen of the different variants in the stash!
