With "Am Ende Steht der sieg" done, I decided to stay more or less in the same genre, but on a somewhat smaller scale. This is CMKs little 1;35 Beetle which will be done as a 3-tone camouflage with big white US-stars crudely applied.
The driver is a modified driverfigure from Miniarts "US jeep Crew and MP" - the standing figures comes from Masterbox "Europe, 1945" depicting 2 G.I. hanging out with some locals.
It will be a tight scene with focus on the car and figures, so scenery will be limited to road and sidewalk.
Cheers/Jan

I think the road is a bit shiney you might need some flat coat there - and I didn't realise that there were Chinese sidewalks in Europe circa 1945 .
Looks like a great idea for a "tight" dio.

'Blondes' are OK with me.
Sounds like a good plan to me. Maybe a street sign, telephone pole, or street light to give a little elevation to it.
Cheers!

Chop-chop, getting the driver to fit in the Beetle is a messy job - cut a lot of his back off and his seat to give him the right look, normally you don“t hover over the seat but sink in to the cushion - that requires that I have to remove a lot of material to get it to look natural.
I also had to remodel his legs, and cut of a little bit - so he looks a bit disproportioned but I don“t think it will be noticeable from the outside - his left elbow did also suffer in the process

While working on the figures, I also work on the simple "landscape". I have at another occasion bought a series of bases from a craftsshop, and one of them was slightly smaller then the one I plan to use, so it could be used as a template for the street.
Bottom layer is foamboard for its ease of working, is also quite stable so that it wont warp when painted or glued, which makes it ideal for this kind of work, where the upper layer of cork is glued on with white clue and later treated with wall filler. I have used a sheet of balsa wood to lift the sidewalk area compared to the road area that have just received a piece of cork.
Cheers/Jan
