Hi Gang,
I just bought Bronco`s ZTZ-99 A1 MBT, being attracted by the digital camo pattern. Now I wonder if these pattern has been applied only for the 60 years parade or is it used operationally?

Cheers

I'm doing mine as an operational vehicle, although I've seen no photos to back it up.

At least some of them remain the old camo.

Hello Hans-Hermann,

I am pretty sure that the new digital pattern are being used beyond the parade.

To show this new pattern to the public at this certain day does not mean that it is only limited to this date but that its presentation was held back until this day as it was regarded as something worthy.

If you follow this link and scroll down you will see many and different army vehicles with the same pattern design.

That lets me draw the conclusion that it is also used operationally.

The opposite would be that the entire paint job (inlcuding markings) of these
vehicles was done for this one day only (as a kind of ceremonial design?).

Additional to the previous efforts of applying this complicate design they had to repaint the vehicles with the former scheme.

Not very realistic, especially if you think about that this camo design does not look like being developed over night and by one person only - not to mention its more effective look...
