Hi Kenneth,

Let me be the first to congratulate you on the superbe idea.

Unfortunately i must say that my fear (you may remember my post during WIP) about the strange ground cover prooved (IMO) right. I am still not very warm about it.
The cat also has (as far as i see it) problems finding the right postion for the jump. It looks more as it is about to fall down to the right side (having drunk to much of the guys drink probably) then jumping at the birds.

The birds would also profit from a lighter color to differentiate them from the ground.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but the idea is great, so i would like to push it to the optimum. But maybe i am the only one seeing it like that.

Cheers

Claude

Hi Claude !
Thanks for your reply and the comments. Well, the birds are supposed to be sparrows, so I didn't want to have too colourful a plumage on them. The cat is actually jumping off the side of the stone pillar. Perhaps the angle of the photography doesn't show it clearly enough . As for the groundwork, well, I wanted to show an abandoned square left to the elements and nature, hence the present appearance. Cheers !

As usual with you the idea takes it all Kenneth, I really love the way you think your dioramas and the way they turn up is always extremely refreshing.
Now what says Claude may be right, but you have years ahead to perfect your sculpting and painting techniques.
What I see here is the Main Thing, it's *Inspiration*, a lot of great diorama technicians doesn't have any, i know which side I am on and who i do support

I actually quite like the way you've done the brickwork/groundwork. I guess I can see how it might not be super realistic, but I think it's visually interesting, and that's what usually takes the cake for me.

Also, although the sparrows are a dull (colored), I'm guessing that they probably stand out more in person.

The only thing that I'm inclined to agree with is the angle of the cat, but as you said, it could be the angle of the pictures as well.

Nice job overall, I really like what you've done with it.

There is a lot of heart about what you are doing, I really like the fact that -contrary to me- you are able to get out of war completely and produce simple scenes that make you glad you are alive,
congratulations my friend, you are one of a kind, and I have been loving every single diorama I have seen from you

Your idea for the vignette is great! I agree with Nicholas when he says that the idea or inspiration is the most important part.
You seem to get better and better with each dio so It's not long before we call you master Kenneth, hehe.

Yo Kenneth,

Strange I did spotted youre work not early. Still its a great work with a fun and nice story.

My only minor point is the sand covering the ground...but none the less...stunning idea!

Hi Nico !
Thank you very much, my friend . The square where the artist is resting and sketching the birds has been abandoned for a fair bit of time; in the meantime, Nature has started to reclaim the ground on which it is built, hence the abundance of "sand" . Hope that helps to explain things a bit. Cheers !
Kenneth .
