This is the result of 2 years of off and on trial and error model building. This is the first time I have ever tried to produce a diorama. I have built models since college off and on, but I had never attempted a building or a Dio base. I must say that I am happy with the final product. It will not win any awards as I'm sure there are many things that can be made better or more historically correct, but I made it for me and I am happy with it. But I wanted to share it with the community in hopes of inspiring some others out there who may be hesitant to try something like this. Go ahead, just do your research and give it a try
There are some very early pictures of the project in my gallery if you are interested.
See everyone at AMPS2010

Looks good, you have a few different things going on at the same time. Keep up the good work. I like the back drop an old poncho linner.

I've had the pleasure of watching this thing come together over the last 2 years and it hasn't been easy. Dave built the T-19 first, long before we were forunate enough to get the DML kit. He used the old Best Value Models kit, which consisted of the Tamiya M3A2, Italeri 105, a few resin bits and pieces, and a whole lot of sheet styrene and wire. This required a lot of destruction, reconstruction, and scratchbuilding. The stowage hanging on the T19 sides actually hang from the tie down rings and most movable things actually move. The figures were also a first for him. I've seen the whole thing really close up and it's pretty remarkable for a "first". Great job, Bub!!!

Thanks for your comments Tom T. Yes it is a Poncho Liner, only thing I had at the moment to use as a back drop.
Spuds...yes, you were a major pain in my butt during this project. Everytime I would get lazy, you would push..thanks
I hope others will view this thread and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed doing it.
BTW...comments are welcome. We can always improve on our work.

I think it turned out looking great. Especially for your first diorama. Hopefully you'll do some more. The main thing is you enjoyed doing it. I'm sure many others will enjoy viewing it.

Thanks Dave. For the most part I enjoyed it...lol. There were days when nothing seemed to be going the way I wanted it to go. But lots of reading (Shep Paine and Steve Zaloga), plus this site and many, many model magazine articles helped. And yes, I kind of now have the bug.
But I appreciate your kind remarks.

Wow Dave, most impressive! Every element of it is very well done. Your painting and weathering of the building and groundwork are really excellent!

I know I am! This is something I'd really like to see in 'person', so many areas that deserve a closer look. Bravo Dave, nicely done and thanks for sharing

SSGToms and c5flies. Thank you both for your kind words. I'm glad so many are enjoying my effort. I truely makes all those days I almost threw in the towel seem very far off. All this encouragement from everybody only makes me more eager to try another Dio.
c5flies...if there are specific areas that you woukld like additional picturesof, let me know and I will try to get some taken and posted. That goes for anybody else. Just be patient, because I travel a good bit with my job and it may take me several days before I can get them up on the site.
