Buliding planes, I always future coated before decals were applied. But with Armor the decals are almost negligible, should I still future coat anyway?
I use MM Acryl for base coats and washes and brybrush.
Thanks

To be brief: yes.
Gloss coats serve more purpose than just providing a base for your decals. They can also smooth out a rough paint finish - which looks better in scale.

I agree with Gunnie.
Nahhh... Future helps a great deal with the decals sitting properly vs. a "flat" paint surface. Add to that, the gloss finish also aids in "washes", by allowing capilary action to help the wash flow into and around details more easily because surface tension is reduced greatly.

I shre the same thoughtd as Gunnie and Kencelot. A nice coat of Future always helps in decaling and washing a model, doesn't matter if it's a plane, an AFV, etc.

YES YES YES
While most armor kits don't have lots of decals, they have the clear carrier film just like the aircraft you're used to, and when they silver, it looks just as bad. However, you don't always have to spray the entire model....sometimes, especially with only a couple decals, I just brush it on to the appropriate spot.
