My little grey cells have let me down and I need some help. Does any one out there know the length of the S & P Trailers used in Vietnam? I can't remember of they were 35, 38, or 40 footers.

I found my answer thru a couple of guys that pulled these trailers in Nam. They were all 28 feet in length. Most were pulled by the five ton tractor and a few were pulled by a dolly rig behind a M-54 cargo truck. The dolly was from the U.S. Navy, so they were all navy gray instead of OD Green. The Army kind of "borrowed" them from the Navy. I think the only unit to pull them was the 515th Trans Company. They all had the commerical tread tires instead of the multidirectional type.
