I drive by a local National Guard armory on a frequent basis, and there's something that's been bugging me for a while now.
Have the actual colors in the current NATO tri-color camo changed?
The reason I ask is that most/all of the HUMVEE's parked at this armory seem quite a few shades "darker" than the other softskin vehicles in with them.
Could it be a new coating or something applied to the paint (i.e. CARC), a new formulation of paint, or maybe they're all just fresh repaints from the DS tan color?
Thanks in advance!

Probably newer and therefore fresher paint. Older vehicles will have faded.

It can also depend on the weather, a rain soaked or damp vehicle will look several shades darker than a dry one.

Understood, Joseph.
Thing is, all these vehicles are in the same compound - these HUMVEEs plus assorted trucks, side-by-side.
The more I think about it, the Nat'l Guard unit probably got a shipment of newly manufactured/refurbished Hummers. They had a lot in DS Sand for the longest time, and now they're down to less than 1/2 dozen vehicles in Sand.

The M1152A2's are starting to creep into the inventory.

That would make sense... I started seeing M1078's and their brethren running around my end of town about a year or so ago. Stands to reason that the new Hummers wouldn't be far behind.

My Infantry Battalion has been receiving rebuilt M1025A1's, M1097's and M1151's over the last several months. Any HMMWV's that haven't been through a RESET cycle are being shipped of on a one-for-one swap basis.
