Not really, the version depicted was used for testing and evaluating the Abrams. It was normally delivered in overall green and camouflage painted on at unit level. I have seen some photos of the Abrams with a coat of white wash (?) or some sort of white camouflage applied over the green while on maneuvers.

we had a large reprint of an M1 initial production on the wall at work (think 3ft x 5ft) that had an overall white paint job with a greenish charcoal camo scheme on it. It was getting ready to let loose a round in a field that was snow covered (looked like Alaska). The camo scheme is the only one I've ever seen like that, and it may have been used in the extreme cold weather tests that were done up there. Most were done testing the thermo / laser gun sight, and powerpack reliability testing on our test track up there.

M1's were painted green for the first few years right out of the barn. Then when I went over to Lima sometime in the late eighties, everything loaded on rail cars was European camo. Now everything appears to be done in the normally seen tan. The last time I was over there was in the early 1990's, so it's been awhile

Remember that it is a temporary paint scheme and will wash off with a high pressure hose or traveling through the underbrush.
