I am converting and scratch-building an M123A1C 10 Ton tractor to be used with an M15A1 trailer in Vietnam era. I am using the Tamiya dragon Wagon tires and would like to replace the wheels since they are not accurate for an M123 truck. Correct wheels are five hole, 10 bolt civilian pattern used on most Mack trucks of the era since M123 was built by Mack. Here is my question. Do the Dragon Wagon tries fit on 1/25 scale wheels. I don't do 1/25 trucks, and don't want to buy one to find out they do not fit. Help from anyone who builds 1/25th trucks would be appreciated.

I would tend to think no because of major scale differences. the best way to find out is go out and buy a 25th scale truck, you probably could modify it to get what you want or who knows they may be close in size. Run down to Walmart or some cheapie place and pick up a tractor kit for about 10 bucks I guess

I'll assume that you are working in 1/35th scale. If that's right, then contact the folks at Tank Workshop. Not only do they make the resin M123A1C 10-ton tractor, they will probably sell you just the resin wheel/tire assemblies as well. Accurate Armour has been selling seperate parts of their kits as well, so there's a good chance that TW can help. It would save a LOT of labor as well.

What you can do is use the tank workshop dragon wasgon tires and the wheels from the M-35 series trucks. What I do is drill out the wheels form the tank workshop and install the M-35 wheels. They may not be exact but they will work quite nicely. If you have a source for casting these or you cast at home you can make a couple of masters and make the molds and cast your own. If you are looking for a real challenge you can cut out the wheel portion of the M-925 series tires and install these into the Dragon Wagon tires. I have done it both ways.

Wow, Animal! That seems to me to be a real test of just how badly a particular piece can be needed for the accurate depiction of a vehicle. A lot of work. I wonder if you could master a set of tires that way,,,,,, make them available to others, maybe?
