I am not too familiar with the French coding system so I thought I will combine the VAB with the Leclerc, and I still have so many decals left from the superb Echelon sheet.
Some Figures are in the making so I might correct the bumper codes at a later stage, but since you in initiated this whole thing, what would proper infantry codes look like ? Just -X- the ones I have ?

You teased me with the VAB, so I popped up

An infantry tactical sign would be either simply an X, or an X with three roundels below. Both apply for motorized units, for a mechanized unit you would have the X with the armor marking (oval).

But don't worry about changing the marking, just add some antennas and the right side aerial support (I have pics in my site for it). As you made your VAB buttoned up, nobody will notice it.

One more thing, do you guys now use the Isreali ( or is it British ?) type CVC helmet now as standard issue for armoured vehicles, or on Leclerc only ?
