Hello,
Here's some pics of the flak tower that I have in progress right now. It will mount a 20mm flak 30, when I can locate one other than the esci kit.

WOW. That is extremely cool. Has to be one of the finest Balsa scratchbuilds I have seen. I can see this now sitting by a bunch of railroad tracks, protecting a marshalling yard, or maybe on a pier.
Thanks for sharing your work!

Wow! The next problem would be if that thing could withstand the weight of the Flak for a long period of time!

Darn! This is first class scratchbuilding. Are you using photos of an actual tower for references?

Great build. I also ask the question, are you using plans and/or photos for reference?

Hello,
I am using a set of plans in 1/35 that was produced by Magus, long out of production. Thanks for the kind words.

Fine work. Very well done.
As you progress don't overlook nail hole detail. Before you start putting paint/stain on it take a small pin and push in nail holes wherever they should be. The paint/stain will soak in and give you a dark 'hole' where a nail would be.
Another thing you may do too (depending on documentation) is use paper as a 'metal' frame support. Just cut to shape and glue with white glue.

I was wondering what the going rate for a copy of those plans is? (pant...pant...drool) I have a Flak 37 that needs a home. I know I would do a poor imitation of your fine work but I would like to try. If they are copyrighted or cost you an arm and a leg and the odd nice/nephew I understand.
Thanks!

Hi Sam,
I really like the job you are doing on the flak tower. First class work!
I'm curious, where will the ramp at the bottom of the steps lead?
I'm looking forward to seeing it completed. Thanks for posting the pictures.
