Hey,
It seems to me that we have a large enough group, shall we make it a group build rather than a campaign that way we don't need to bother with ribbons or deadlines/ start dates or any offical stuff or rules? How does November sound?
Tuga: a bunker is acceptable
Envar: Nice idea, nothing wrong with it

actually,a group build must still have start and end dates, and a group build still can have a ribbon, just hand'em out to everybody when the campaign is finished! :-) :-)

You see, I do not know these things, always thought one was offical and the other not. Don't you want to take over maybe Air Warrior since I am to junior and inexperienced? Then it would be alot easier since i don't know that much about how to run one of these things?

Hi,
For a campaign we must be at least 10 members to start and we also need to establish some rules and then ask GunTruck (the Campaign Manager) to include it on the campaign docket.
If you check CAMPAIGNS section you can see that the rules can be more or less elaborated according with sugestions and ideas of the group.
So who are interested so far
So we need at least two more interested.

Hi Bren. What you have done so far is perfect. If you have any doubts about what to do next ... ask Gunnie. He will give you the proper info needed and all of us will support you in the campaign. It pretty much organises itself ....... ask a question and others will give their opinions. As we are not planning to start yet for a while, Im sure we will get two more to join before then. Also the last figure campaign, just finished was led by Arragon (jamal). He is only 14 or 15 and managed it no problem. Campaign went the whole way and finished with about 16 final entries. Do you need the Colonel Frank Slade speech (scent of a woman) now? "Stick with me boy ... you´re education is about to begin .. Wuuuuu Hah"

Trench campaign- I assume a diorama campaign centered around trench warfare ?
Sounds interesting, count me in if the start date is sometime in the fall.

At this point you are still a base visitor, so you do not have a rank yet, within a few postings you will became a private and you are no longer a 'visitor'

Good man Tuga ......... you have it almost ready!! I pm´d Bren today with some tips and ideas and general "how to". I asked him if he is willing to take up the role as campaign leader. When he replies ... we´ll get things reveed up then. I dont want to start posting my ideas ....... as it was Bren who started off this, I would like to encourage him to take up the roll. He may be young, but Jamal has managed the figure campaign, so the presentent has already been set! I only offered help,
Gunnie - when would be a suitable starting time considering all the other buids going on?

Hi Guys, I'm kinda new at this, Its my first campaign. Does a November start mean that no construction at all can begin untill Nov. 1. If this is the case I assume we are on the honor system.

Put me down for this one as well please.
Hopefully I'll get to participate in this one as I was unable to do the splash one due to work commitments.
Is there going to be a price/size limit and is there going to be a must include (apart from the trench)
Cheers
Robbo

I was thinking about the idea for the next dio contest¨.
How about a gun emplacement.
Not really armour but at least there is some metal in there. Maybe three figures. They could be all dead. They could be firing the gun. They could be 2 attacking a lone soldier manning the gun, etc. Then the dio aspect. How do you make the emplacement! Sanbags! A dig_in! Camoflauged with branches or nets! A man made or natural proteced area! A street scene! A turret bunker! etc! The figures could even be setting up the gun emplacement.
This was my proposal when the search was on for the subject of the 2nd dio campaign. It eventually became "the Splash Campaign". Thats why I am so interested in this campaign.
Ok! Bren is going to be Campaign leader. Campaign could start around October/november .. to give Barborossa time to finish up (sept. 21)! We must get agreement from Gunnie and get it scheduled in! Any ideas for running length as we may need extra because of the Xmas holidays????
The ideas ........ Gun emplacements... trenches. For figures, artillery or both. So basically this will be a dio campaign!!
I guess the easiest is the best way...... the less rules and regs the better.
So the main concept will be fortification. How about "OPERATION COVER-UP" as the title?
In my opinion anything with a built up or dug down fortification is eligible. This brings together the main interest groups .. trenches and artillery bunkers of all types. I suppose a dug in tank could also be included! Any other ideas or suggestions?
I spoke to Bren tonight and asked if he was interested in suggesting a theme like Keith Magee brought in to the previous campaigns .. (window and water) to be included. Gets the creativity flowing as well!
Good luck!

I'm in! But since it is my first campaign I guess I get the newbie cherry award. I am thinking of a Pak 40 bunker complex that I have been looking at for the last year or so and wondering what the heck would get me off my butt to actually build it.
Cheers!

In previous posts I have refered to the campaign as Operation Molehill but I think Operation Cover-Up is much better. Great to see such a good response! See the new forum and post your thoughts there. It is incorrectly labelled Operation MoleHill- Tench Campaign.
Please post thoughts, suggestions, ideas there!
