Quite frequently, within the thread which which is begun to complement the News reports, there's often a question on the price of a New Release.

In very few cases we give a price. Let me try and explain why we don't give a R.R.P.

Quite simply, when we get details of a New release from the U.S. distributors (for example), by the time it reaches the stores, it bears no relation to the Recommended Retail Price. Many buy from the Far East, many buy from a national retailer, others buy from their LHS. In that, there is no logical reason to put in a price.

Nor does everyone live (or purchase) in the States - there's an enormous difference between pricing in all areas of the world, so simply put, we don't give prices as it would simply confuse further an already confusing situation.

Another area which is frequently raised is that of release dates. Once again, when a company gives us a release date, we publish it. Also, once again, it seems to depend on where you live. So, if we DON'T publish a release date, it's because we simply DON'T have it!

Hope this clears up any doubts!

Hi Jim,

Expanding this a little should we then leave the price out of the Reviews, again for the same reasons above?

Al, if we can, we'll list the MSRP and/or the going price at 'popular' cyber retailers for reviews as the price does have some bearing on the review itself. For purchased by reviewer items, many times the reviewer will add what they actually paid for the item. This, at least, will provide the reader with an idea of what the product costs and shopping for the best price is up to them.
