Good time of day, guys!
I would like to share some shots of the MAZ (KZKT) 537 painted in fire truck colors. I found some pictures of a real-life MAZ 537 prime mover in this capacity (though a tractor not a flatbed) and thought I would attempt to recreate it in scale. There is minimal weathering on the model as I wanted to retain the clean airfield fire truck looks.
Anyways, would be great to hear what you think about the results.
The last pic shows the new truck beside my old MAZ 537 in military livery.
Cheers !

Hi,
great idea to make something else than the standard green militairy version. It would be nice if you could put some firefighting figures with them, it would make a unique diorama.

Ohh, this is something very different to the standard vehicles.
Also the civilian vehicles are a bit "cleaner" than the military ones.
This looks great!
greetings...

Looking great! Btw, are the wheels an after-market set or the original kit ones?

I dipped all windows in Future Floor Wax before gluing them on, which helped with the glossy looks.

Subjugator, that's a great idea and a nice clean build. Having wear only on the tires, and everything else polished, is just right to my eye. I especially like the side-by-side with the green one.
Michael, nice start.
Thanks for posting!

No, dear friends, according to registration plate of this MAZ model, this is military fire truck.
Russian wheeled military vehicles had black registration plates with white numbers and letters, looks like pattern below:
12-34 ab
where 1, 2, 3, 4 - four characters, ab - two letters. Those characters and letters were put on plate according to special designation system.
I see, dear Subjugator has made an error - he has drawn on registration plate "H6" (one letter and one character), whereas he should draw two letters instead of these symbols.
Let's go further - the characters of number "11 62" must be divided by dash (like in pattern above).
And, finally - those characters and letters must to be convex, because of these symbols do by way of punching. And symbol's font looks like Czech-style or East German style, but not like Russian style.
Below are some interesting pictures of MAZ-537 - for those, who want to build more unusual vehicles:
1) Civilian fire truck:
2) KZKT + ISU:
3) Else one military fire truck:
Enjoy !
