Hi again,
thanks for the comments.
I have the basic base ready now. I just started working with it and in no time I noticed that I had made a piece of road and it conflicts with my previous theme for this dio. Blaah.
The funny thing is that I actually like it this way. I have to place a figure or two in there to show the small size of the vehicle but the previous idea of these guys having a break doesn´t work any more...
One thing I could add to the base would be a milk platform, just because it would look neat.
Or maybe I just put this dio aside until I can reason this thing out.
If you can think of anything clever with just one or two figures, I would be delighted.
Toni

Toni,
That's really great! Congratulations on getting thru that lousy kit in the fine style that you have!! !!
If the figures no longer play into your plans, might I suggest having a couple of small arms and/or helmets about.... something to help to show the scale of this really small AFV. At least one figure standing around would be the best tho. IMHO.
Really looks supurb as is Toni, and I'm glad that there's at least two of us out there that have managed to struggle thru that kit!!!

Thanks for support Kevin!
Gear lying around...why I didn´t think of that????
I could at least put a camo net and ammo crates in there...and a few rifles ready to be loaded in the vehicle. Perhaps that one guy just waits for his crew to arrive!
I will be soon finished with this!
Thanks everybody!

Yes, that one guy standing around those otherwise unattended weapons would be a good thing to do Toni....

That Swastika looks like the one that Germany used in the Spanish Civil war... do we have an answer for this yet?

KF, Toni and I talked about this way back...it's a Finnish marking. It's distinguished from the German one by having the bars at 90 and 180 degrees to the level (as opposed to 45 degrees) ahd the feet are pointed in the opposite direction.
Toni, too bad you won't be using the concertina idea...I was going to suggest finding one of those flex straws and using the flexible part as the body. What about having the thing on the move with the guy playing as they drive?

Hehe. That would be a sight!
Actually I have this one point against a moving vehicle, that there should be six men fully equipped sitting in the back and I have doubts if I could ever fit as many figures in there. If one of them plays a concertina while they roll, it would be logical that the cabin hatches would be open... Which is impossible at this point, plus the vehicle doesn´t have any kind of interior.
Ok ok. Let´s face it: I´m just too lazy to craft more than two figures for this dio. #:-)
I have to convert all figures from Germans to Finnish soldiers.
Al, don´t worry if the concertina won´t appear in the final dio. I still have that figure waiting to be mounted somewhere else and you gave some nice tips how to make the instrument!
About the swastika...It belongs to a Finnish Pz.Kpfw.IV decal sheet by Wiking-decals. Here´s some more info about the Finnish markings and Wiking-decals: Wiking-decals for Finnish tanks

Some great work there Toni. I really like the weathering and the ground work.
