Hey all......hoping someone can help me with this....

A little while back, someone had tried the now famous salt technique on a T55 or T62....not sure which....can someone point me to that thread? Can't seem to find it.

Also....what color would be found under the Russian Armor Green that they used on their T62s? Would it have been a grey or red primer?

I want to try my hand at the salt technique with my T62.....which I want to make in Russian service, but am unsure of what the color would be underneath. I know...a coat of normal primer....but where I want the "tank primer" to show through....what color would I use? Or would I just be better off using a silver or even a Metalizer color where the salt would be?

As always...any help would be much appreciated!!!

Russian tanks tended to be rushed to the battle field as soon as they were built. Most had the finish colour applied over the raw steel. I would use a fairly light grey primer to simulate the steel. I use Tremclad, it's lighter than most others.
