Does anyone know what "donor" model kit is supposed to be used with the 1/35 Hobby Fan ROC HMMWV T75 Recon Conversion (HF050)?

Well, strangely...the conversion does not say.

I'm a bit perplexed by that now that I know it doesn't say.

If I was betting money, I would say the Academy kit. I think the conversion was on the market before the Tamiya kit came out.

This is actually the reason why I asked! I had asked a friend with the conversion to check the instructions and he said they (nor the Hobby Fan/AFV Club site) indicated the donor kit... D'oh.

Just pure speculation here again....

If I understand correctly, AFV Club is an off-shoot of Hobby Fan.

I have an AFV Club Hummer kit. The AFV Club Hummer has the Academy Hummer parts and resin parts that look to be the same type/color as the resin in the Hobby Fan conversion that I have.

Again..just me analyzing things way too much!

Yep, you're correct. AFV Club and Hobby Fan are related. So, I'd say you Definitely answered the $64K question.

Thanks for all the added effort on my question.

OK, that has too be the most Humvee stuff I have seen in one place at one time that it blew my mind.If you ever want to know what's out there for a Humvee look on that page and you'll find everything. For what is not being made anymore to the most current stuff out there.

That is a great site. I've been referencing it for some time.

I didn't know AFV Club put out a Hummer kit until I saw it listed on that site. It took me about 6 months to find one for sale. I was disappointed to find out, after receiving the kit, that it is nothing more than an Academy Hummer with a few resin pieces added.

I just wish that site was in English. I bet there is some great information there. I have tried several times to run an automated translator on the page but I can never get it to work.

It is pretty comprehensive: Thanks to Kuba (kubisz) who is also a regular here on Armorama and started the My Humvee Collection thread. I'm sure if you asked he'd translate specific bits....it would be a huge job to do it all. It does just show how this hobby can transcend language barriers
