Gents ...
I got to get this jewel in resin:
I´ll start this kit in this weekend...
But I'm having a hard time finding references about this British Girl ....
Could anyone help me with something??
This Lady walked through the desert??
TIA....

Hi Marcus,
Look forward to the build of the 'Ant'.
I haven't come across Scale Line before, are their kits reasonably priced? What about quality of the parts etc any thoughts yet?
Cheers

Hi, Alan...
Well...about the price, I can´t report anything...
I bought this beauty in "second hand"...
A really bargain...
About quality, very good !!
few bubbles and flashes...Good resin, no bended parts...
If you found another, buy, without remorse...
Thanks for the e-mail...
All the best!!

Well...
Starting the game!!!!
The real Guy Ant 15 CWT Light Lorry 4x2
I'd like to do something different with this little girl!!
After many research hours, I decided to place this truck in Algeria, 1943,
supporting the 14th RAF Squadron, which at the time, used Marauders IA torpedo-
bombers.
This Squadron was the home of the famous "Dominion Revenge"
If you want to know more about this glorious Squadron, click here...
My truck will be paint in RAF colors... As she was serving at an air base, these girls were not necessarily camouflaged, as we seen in this photo of the 14th Squadron:
The colors "in colors" (the truck in the picture is a Chevy ...)
And a complete profile that I did... (excuse the crudeness of the design ...)
Resin parts...
The kit is old, but cool...
The wheels came wrong, for the 4x4 version ... I swapped by Chevy 15 CWT resin wheels:
Instructions are Spartans, at least ...
I started assembling the cargo bed and support brackets:
Building the cabin and the chassis.
Detail: the chassis shows no twist, which is a miracle of the Gods, in the case of resin models ...
And the two sub-assemblies glued:
Chassis...low view;
And the girl, standing on its feet:
Well, this is it ...for now!!!!
Stay tunning, Lads...
Regards and all the best !!!

Hi Marcus,
Nice work. A later model with the square sides and circular tanks as we discussed. It looks like a really good kit, excellent progress.

Thanks, Alan...
But, continuing the story ...
Mooring rings in resin are very fragile ......
I decided to replace with metal. I used copper wire and soldering electronic ...
:woohoo:
And the rings installed .... I thought they were much better ...
I added more pieces in resin and made the frames of the windshield with PE scrap... cyanoacrylate!!!!
After pimmer, I made the springs of the truck´s bonnet ... Thin telephone wire...It is a fine detail...
...and the rear steps:
After primmer, the first layer of Blue RAF. Acrylic...
Well, lads ... the thing is so ...
In the photos, you must have noticed that I took a glossy varnish bath in this girl ...
She is ready to receive the decal ...
I will make the decal with my laserjet ... Let's see what happens ...
regards...

I have to say that, if I was making this beauty, I would reckon that the chances of finding an Guy Ant in 1943, overseas and still painted in RAF blue would be pretty small. Would look nice though!

Chris, as far researched, the chances of this occurrence, in 1943, were not so small ... I found many references of the use of the Ant in Normandy.
Even more so when in use at an air base ...
But continuing with the work ...
Yesterday, I did very little ...
I used a letter-set from Archer to make the RAF´s markings. It´s a
great tip you have a set of these handy ...
And as it was, on the sides of Guy::

Now, I´ll apply the decals, because the worms are coming out through the mouth ...
ehehheheheheheheheheh
Later, post the pictures!!

Marcos,
A couple of small points, what's holding the jerrycan in place on the bonnet? Also I see in the pictures that there are som surface irregularities in the vertical panels immediately in front of the door openings on each side of the bonnet. I'm not sure if thy are paint runs or something left over from the moulding process.
Just a heads-up of some things to take a look at before you finish the project.

Game over...
I kept the cabin tarp because it was original of the kit...
A tribute to manufacturer and a concession to laziness ...
ehehehehehehehehe
The pictures:
Veg fair !!!!
First storage, but were many empty spaces ...
Final version, with wine and beer...
And the little beast ... details like German helmets as souvenirs on the headlights ...
Well...there this !!!

Marcos,
I have to ask where the three jerrycans in the back came from? The fact that they have only one handle (instead of three) really stands out and, for me at least, really detracts from the otherwise nice model.Surely you must have 3 proper jerrycans in your stash? They would really make such a difference. Yuo also need to watch your decals as there is some silvering visible around the roundles on the front & back. Not much, but it's visible. A little setting solution or Future would probably clear them right up.

Apart from the Jerry can gaff (are those old Tamiya ones from the Kettenkraftrad kit?!) it looks great - like the colourful markings, especially. Good job!

Hi Marcus,
Nice load . One niggle though is the tarp, it would be much tighter and not so creases me thinks. I'm not sure if you could smooth it out a little and it would probably be army khaki. I only mention it as the truck looks terrific but the tarp spoils an otherwise excellent build. I shall now hide.
These are a few pics from Duxford I took that might help.
Cheers

Paul and Alan, thanks...
Alan, I chose to keep the freak canvas for the originality of the kit. I know it's weird, but it is a reminder of how things were done in the old days, in the backyard's kits.
A bit of nostalgia, I guess ....
@:)
Thnaks again, Gents!!!
