Thankyou Vince
I did put an oil wash on the wheels but that is it so far.
I am building the AFV Pak 40 to tow and then i will put them both in a diorama setting moving to their next position somwhere down the road on the eastern front.
Thanks for your advice, Iam not sure how to dirty the tracks
what media do you use to do this? or do you mean that i should use an oil wash on them also?
Regards

Horst, I'm still learning how to weather stuff myself. When you make your base you can dirty up the tracks and tires to match your ground work and then highlight the areas of the tracks that are worn with a #2 pencil or steel paint.

Hi Horst,
This is a nice diorama, I really like the scene and I also like the camouflage you put on the half-track. I also like how you added some extra gear on the sides.
If I may give you a tip: try giving the vehicle some weight.

I like it. In the middle of building a 1/2track myself. If you are going to dirty up the tracks, a little rust pigment goes a long way. Check Evilbay for pigments. I Got 12oz. for about $6.

Horst, I really like what you've done here. Matching the foliage on the half-track to that on the ground was a great touch. I would definitely add some pigment to the tracks and tires. I think that would really finish it off.

Hi again Horst,
To give the vehicle weight (as well as figures) the base needs to be covered with celluclay, a powder that when mixed with water and glue turns into a past, you can either paint it when dry or add the paint to it when making it. When the mixture is ready cover the ground with it, when it starts solidifying ad track marks on the road or ground then press it down into the celluclay (this is what makes it seem heavy).
You can also use celluclay to dirty the underside of the tank, to add large amounts of clogged up mud. If you do use it to add mud to the tank, you should add some of the ground work in the mixture.
I hope this is of some help to you, if you search YouTube I am sure you can find a better explanation.
