Hey guys!
Well, I've finally found a building to start with for my Normandy campaign! I'm going to be ambitious and attempt to re-create the Ranville Church in 1944. I'm hard pressed to find any photos from the actual period, so I'm heading to the library this weekend to see what I can scrounge up. I've found some amazing photos via Flickr of the church as recent as last year, and it's still got the bullet holes from the invasion, so that's a great start!
Tomorrow, I will be trying to gather everything I need to start the build process over the weekend but I don't have a car currently, so it may be off to a slow start.
If anyone finds any period photos of the church, please let me know!
Happy building always!

Hi Vince,
Thanks for the reply! Yes, I've seen those photos on Flickr and they are beautiful! Even more reason to build the church. I'm looking forward to starting it, that's for sure.
Thanks for your help! It is greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,
So I'm still looking through the internet to try to find some other information. Apparently, it was Operation Tongo that was held in Ranville (the over taking of the bridges were also a huge part of this operation) and it was all very close to Ranville.
A question for you guys is...what type of weapon/ammo would cause these kinds of bullet holes?
Thanks for reading!
(Still not quite sure how to get photos to show up....)

Thank you! How did you do that? I've tried HTML and the basic [img] code, but have had no success.

Hi Guys,
Well after some thinking and honest advice, I have decided to put this huge project on hold in order for me to start with something smaller. So, off I go to get some experience!
I'm still very curious about these bullet holes, though. And how to post photos in a post...

Hi

To post images make sure you have the images address first. I tend to just highlight it and do copy. Then as you write your post click on the little image insertion button which is open bracket, word "img" followed by close bracket, see it, just on the first row of buttons below the box you are typing in. That will give you a row of code in your dialogue box.
Highlight from the http part to the end of the word file, either delete it and paste in your saved address or just hit paste - Ctrl V and it'll substitute the text for your copied address. That should do it.

Clear as mud

Alan
