Is it correct to use Vab 4x4 from Heller as a base for afganistan conversion? I found in blast-models a few conversions to make a special version of VAB in Afganistan.
They recomand this kit but when I look on pictures I see only "new generation VAB".

You need to use the VAB HELLER for the VAB valo conversion from Balst.
You will use so little pieces of the donor kit.
Please check my profile to see my stractch on the vehicle. Not to hard if you want to save 100 euros

Heller's VAB kit (#81130) is the only game in town for any 1/35th scale VAB-based project...

The up armored VAB is in Astan since a few years and replaces the non upgraded ones.
There're tons of pics in various magazines which shows basic VAB's in Astan.
The Blast conversions are from a few published photos of VAB NG (new generation) took last years.
To be noticed is the fact that armored VAB is at 99% equiped with new tyres.

Was the work all scratch or a mix of scratch and Blast products?

I'm sure the add-on armor is all scratch as is the anti-IED antennas support.
I advise you to get some suitable M2 MG as the Heller one is a dog. I think Blast has a resin cupola with the MG to replace the poor Heller one.
