Hi David,

nice kit isn't it? Especailly the cab that fits together so easily (you might detect some frustration, I built this one myself)

You're using the hairspray technique? The result looks really nice. I see that you gave the metal truck bed the same light colour as the wooden board at the back of the truck bed. You might consider changing the base colour to show it's a different material

The fact that you built it at all is worthy of mention. It's one of the tougher kits out there. I don't believe you needed to rough the surface of the cab that much, but by all means carry on and let's see what you can do with it.

thank's you'll for the fead back I quess a little more info on the build would help. the build is not done yet it started about a year ago when I got a book called Modelling postwar tanks by Osprey I the book they is a build of a T-34/85 in Croatia during the Balkan war sporting soom realy great ersatz camo. that got me thinking.so when i saw this kit I know that i had to build it what I hope to accomplish is to have a 106mm recoilless rifle mounted in the bead and the truck sporting a ersatz camo schemes.I also want the truck to look well worn and abused with some add on armour. I will post more pic as the build gos on
thanks dave

MIG have recently brought out a few resin BT-11 Soviet era recoilless rifles. Some have vehicle mounts- Should be right up the GAZ-66's street.

They are resin (and they're MIG) so they be a bit pricey but MIG accessories are worth it!

Looks awesome, one thing i did notice though was the paint that is meant to appear "worn away", along the raised strips ontop of the wheel well. If the paint has worn away from friction and contact over time, the raised strips should have recieved the wear n' tear, being that they would recieve contact and not immediately beside them.
Cheers!
