Hi,
I've been building Trumpeter's M1134 Stryker ATGM on and off for sometime.
This is my second Stryker build; the first being the AFV Club APC version.
In this Stryker I've decided to experiment on making the Non-Slip surfaces. I've used some kind of very small particle sand called Alodur used in casting industry.
I've first masked all the smooth aka non non-slip surfaces using masking tape and blue-tack.

After the masking is completed -which was a real test of patience - I have sprayed gloss varnish on the non-slip to be surface.
Then I have strewn the alodur dust on top of the still wet gloss coat. After waiting for a while for the gloss coa to dry, I sprayed Tamiya primer over the non-slip surface to seal the particles.

Remaining pieces of the built is complete now. Trumpy added some sticky straps to attach the stowage bins. But I didn't like the look of them, they didnt look realistic somehow, too toylike....
So I grabbed a thin sheet of brass and cut my own straps.

If I might offer a suggestion...are the periscopes on the driver's and commander's hatches glued on? If not you may want to consider removing them before painting.
It might make painting the anti-laser reflective coating easier.
Just a thought.

Be sure to post some pics when you've got it painted!
I'd really like to see your technique for painting the periscope glass. I'm going to be painting my Stryker MGS soon so I could always use some pointers!

Why don't ATGM vehicles use a newer missile than the TOW? Would Javelins do the same job, or better? Or is the TOW still the best ATGM around?

It seems a long time since I've updated the post. I think it is time to finish what I've started.
Here are the images of the finished Stryker ATGM:

That non-slip surface turn out extremely well. Will have to try something similar in the future.

Looks good, but repaint that 240. The M240 is not exactly the same as the FN MAG, one of the big differences is the furniture used is a black polymer.
My M4 is sort of blocking it but here is a quick shot of a 240's stock.
