Built new Tamiya's Matilda Mk.III-IV straight out of the box with ground base to experiment on - Tamiya's desert yellow for the base coat, the camo is hand painted with Model Master Acryl with a brush, oil wash, with Future mixed pigments for really caked on sand, finished with lots of Tamiya buff spray... Still learning on the figures - will start ordering proper figures for the future builds or at least a set of heads from many retailers advertising to the left of this post

That's some pretty nice work, Ivan. The hand-painted cammo and chipping are especially well done. The photography is also very good.
You might consider a smaller base next time. Something that's about the size of the area that you framed in your close-up photos would focus attention on your model a bit better than all the open space. (That is unless you have some plans for the rest of the area...)
It's nice to see these other-than-German subjects! Thanks for sharing.

Ivan,
WOW! Fantastic build, looks fantastic. I particularly like the weathering. looks just right to me. Base looks good too, the Matilda blends in with it perfectly.
Ammen to that!
Thanks,
Philip.

Hi, Mike
Thanks for the compliments.
Agreed - the base came out too big, as I've started prepping it before the Matilda arrived from Squadron (Top speed of 16 miles per hour, you know ) and I didn't realize how small this infantry tank actually is...
I'm contemplating adding horse riding Bedouin either from Verlinden or the new Masterbox offering, maybe some Pz IV turret elements I have littering my parts box... Either way - the expanse of the desert is bothering me as well, even if it does serve as reminder that Afrika campaign was fought over expanses of just that... Lots of empty space
