Something a little different for me, as I usually do 1/48 armor. I used to paint 25mm wargame, eyes and all, but my hands and eyesight are not what they used to be.

This looks very interesting to me!
The helmets (the metallic things on their heads) looks like british ones.
I also had the idea to make another landscape (not snowed )
Also I have some grass-parts from my last (and first) dio.
And also perhaps I will add some figures to it.
Thanks for sharing!

Love it!
Wish there was more spotlight on Ghurkas in scale modelling.
Diggin the Kukri's as well, can you show us a more detailed photo of the lad holding one?

Hi Bret,
First time I've seen these figures built. Nice setting. You should join the Paint you Troops campaign and get yourself a ribbon.
Nice work.

Thanks!
I'll get some soon, camera battery needs charged.
The rifleman on the right is the only one that didn't get his pose altered.

Great work Bret. Hope you'er not completely out of the 1/48th scale. You might want to show these little jewels on HF to see what the figure guys think.

Ful marks for a long-neglected subject. I like the clean and simple view, it tells a good story and makes you want to look around that corner!

Hi there! Nice diorama. The figures look great. Just a question tho, how did you make the wall behind the figures? It looks very realistic.
Cheers.

The wall is from Woodland Scenics, cut down a bit;
I started with a heavy black wash, then brown, and finished with Tamiya Weathering Master pigments (87079. The grass, flowers and vines are all MiniNatur, again highlighted with the pigments.

Hey Bret
A good simple scene and yes, one wants to know what is around the corner! This could leave the door open to create another scene showing what is around the corner
The wall looks effective too, and the ground work is quite realistic.
I was speaking to a gent yesterday who showed me his Gurkha Kukri blade and sheath, a gift to his father (who was handed over control of Burma in 1945 from Lord Mountbatten no less)
And impressive weapon, and actually larger than the kukri I own. (He aid his was an officers version. I wonder if that was the difference?)
