Hi,

I want to build an Iraqi M1114 Frag5 and I'd like to know what type of gun the Iraqi's use in the armoured turret and what the gunmount looks like?
If someone has pictures of the M1114's as used by the Iraqi's I'm also very interested.
Thanks.

regards,

Dennis

Hi Dennis

Interesting subject

The weapon is called a DShK, ita 12.7mm MG, its a variant of an MG knocking around since WWII.

Mig Productions done a nice version of the standard M1114 kit, although the recent Legend kits are far superior as you may already know!

I've attached a few photos of my effort two years ago (not a frag 5 though sorry), I lost most of my reference material but a quick google (images) should bring up everything you need

Best of luck with your build

Some Iraqi M1114s are/were fitted with a 7.62mm PKM machine gun :

Here's a IA M1114 fitted with Frag5 armor (from Pascal Bausset's Webshots album)

IP M1114 Hummer-03

The gun seems to be a PKM...

DShK mount:

PK's are often misidentified as PKM's (just as ALL AKM's are mislabeled AK-47's) Frenchy's second photo appears to be a PK.

Here's a PK mounted:

And a PKM mount, made in Ohio:
