I am having a bit of a problem,when i reply or post a new topic,it is not showing up on the latest posts on my screen,i have to go back into forums to pick it up,any ideas.

Having had a similar experience I can only imagine that its slower for posts to register on LATEST POSTS than when they appear in the forums.. Dunno why... Jim

My experience is similar. It has been like that since I joined so I would not point to the new 5 minute refresh on the latest posts screen.
I may have to do with page caching.

It has never presented a problem for me because I know that the posts are saved.

I find that if I click either the "English" tab or the note:
Please Note: This page is refreshed every five minutes. To additionally view off-topic forums you are a member of click here., then the new post appears. I don't know if it works by clicking the other languages though.

Before the last update that Jim has done to ArmoramA each time a member hits the 'Last post' button the server reads the database and send the results to us, with the increase im members and visitors to AA that takes a huge amount of resources of the server slowing down all of us.

Now the system generates a new page every 5 minutes and this is the page we access when we hit the 'Last posts' button, not the data that is at the database and it's for that reason that he takes some minutes for our post is shown there.

If we hit the link SABOT refers to the system reads the database and so the new post is shown at once.

same here i miss the "mail call " shout. Bring it back please, if not for me then for the piglets - they've done nothing wrong (++) (++) (++)

Not to be a stick in the mud - this type of thing has affected my page display for the last year, even pre upgrade.
Personally - I just accept it for the way it is.

The "mail-call" sound still works for me (I think). I am not sure why you aren't hearing it.

Btw...Jose (TUGA) is correct. I announced this a while back but some of you may have missed those posts. The latest posts page is now cached and will not update immediately after you make a post. If you go to the main forum page where your post was made it will appear there (or if you hit the link mentioned above, or indeed any of the other sorting, language, and time filter links).
