Absolutely beautiful Ontos, Mike. While normally not my preferred scale I did build the ancient Renwal offering ages ago. The details on the Academy really make my old one look pathetic. It might be the picture but compared to the rest of the vehicle the MG shield looks a little too clean.
Cheers,
Jan

She came out great Mike. One bad-a$$ looking piece of light armor. Great job.

Rich - Thanks, It's a nice build....the barrels are worth it, the PE has a couple of nice items like the rear ammo, but not a must
Jan - Thanks, yep, the Renwal Ontos seems to be in many armor modelers past. It's sooo ungly it draws you in!!
Gino - Thanks, yep this little guy had the firing power of an entire battery....maybe not the range but this little pig was nasty up close.
Thanks guys

Nice work. I had an Ontos as a kid, don't remember who made it.

Bill - Thanks. The original was Renwal which came out in the 60s. Then the molds went to Revell who had their version in the 70s and a couple of issues. Those were 1/32. Then the Hobby Boss resin kit in 1/35.
This new Academy kit has its drawbacks but beats all the old ones!!
thanks again

The original was Renwal.
Yes! That's it! The guns pivoted up and down on a horizontal rod, and I think the back hatches opened, but I'm unsure.
LOVED that kit.
