Hi all
I've got one of the AFV Club T-34's with the clear styrene hull and turret etc.
Trying to build it with the clear parts would be tricky since you need CA glue for the barrel and white glue isn't the strongest bonding agent either.
For the painted parts, one would have to paint them, weather them and then glue them to the clear styrene.
Is there accurate surface/raised details on the clear parts to allow me to paint the entire kit green instead of being visible?
Instead of glueing the top of the hull down, could always click/balance it in place and remove it when I want to display the interior?
Has someone managed to build the "see-through" version without any major problems and whats the secret?

You could use epoxy to put the barrel in, and liquid glue is a better bonding agent, so you could assemble the kit with that. I'm also stuck on whether I should have the t-34 green and pop the top of the hull and turret off to show the interior or or paint one half green and one half clear.

Yes, all the surface detail is present in the kit to paint it as a solod-hulled version and not show the gimmicky clear parts. Here is the review I did if ine of the clear-hulled versions.

If you opt to paint it, you should texture the cast parts, as they are molded smooth as glass to allow easy viewing of the interior parts. Mr. Surfacer 500 is a good choice, or a home brew mixture of Testors enamel and talcum powder can work. Just apply the texturing material and stipple lightly with a Testors nylon brush. As for assembly, you might just assemble it normally, paint most of the model, and just leave clear "windows" away from major glue joints. Personally, I just wanted the tank, so I'm painting the whole thing. I'll only install those interior parts that are actually visible.

Hi Mate,If you can get hold of it,Humbrol make an adhesive specificaly for clear parts which should`nt damage clear parts (also used for making small scale airliner windows).
Hope this helps.
